With 17,975 employees at 531 stores in Germany, Kaiser’s Tengelmann supermarkets reported sales of €2.16 billion in July 2011. The company implemented a new retail ERP system that required connectivity to its 531 stores and suppliers with the objective of synchronizing sales data and managing stock orders and deliveries. Kaiser’s Tengelmann chose Axway Interchange to manage the transfer of sales data to the central ERP system, and to provide real-time enhanced stock control and replenishment. “With Axway Interchange, we quickly established a store-to-corporate infrastructure, and a whole new B2B exchange platform. As a result, stock levels in our stores are constantly monitored and optimized, and this translates to important cost savings,” said Mark Michaelis, Division Manager, ERP and IT Quality Assurance.
